Odds Behind The Pass Line Bet

So, you want to know how to make more money on the pass line?  Well, you came to the right article.  In this post I will show you how to make more money with a pass line bet.

As you can see in the picture up above we have our bet on the pass line.  We already know that we need a 7 or an 11 to win on this bet.  If a 2, 3, or a 12 is rolled we loose.  Once a point is established we can do something to make us more money on this bet.  Now, if we loose the bet it would be like loosing more money.  That's the warning I give you, but if would like to make more money on a craps table I would recommend this bet.

As you can see the point that has been established is the 9.  Now that the point is established we can make a bet called the odds bet.  The odds bet is a good bet because the odds bet pays the true odds.  Say you're a good dice shooter who hits a lot of points or you're betting on a shooter who hits a lot of points this would be a good bet to make.  The true odds are possibilities to hit the point in relation to hit the seven.  For the 4 or 10 the true odds would pay $2 for every $1 because the possibilities of the 7 to the 4 or 10 is 6 times to 3 times.  6 times to roll a 7 and 3 times to roll a 4.  3 times to roll a 10.  There are 4 ways to roll a 5 and 4 ways to roll a 9 compared to 6 times to roll a 7, so the true odds on the 5 or 9 would pay $3 for every $2.  There are 5 ways to roll a 6 and 5 ways to roll an 8 compared to 6 ways to roll a 7, so the true odds on the 6 or 8 would pay $6 for every $5.

So, the point is 9 we would win even money on the pass line bet which is $3 and the 3 to 2 on the odds behind the pass line which would be $9.  So, if the point is rolled here we would win a total of $12.  Not bad considering we only had $9 on the table.

You now know how the odds behind the pass line bet works.
